I am at my wits end. For the last two days I have been unable to open, delete or modify any table in any of the db's on my computer, including system tables. Bound forms do not function properly as they are unable to access the data. All I get is the #Name in the fields. Queries won’t run at all. I can create new tables but that’s it. I cannot export or import them. I have been using A2000 to build db's for clients for several years with out any major problems like this.

I have updated xp, reloaded office and access, searched for viruses, renamed files. I can’t even open the tables in the sample Northwind db.

I have searched Tek-Tips and Microsoft for any tips as to what is causing the problem with no avail. So, I decided to ask any of you access savvy users if you have ever had this problem and how did you resolve it?

Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Have you been doing anything with the Access Security Model ?

You can quite easily remove all privlidges to tables without affecting Forms/Query design etc.

Exactly what do the error messages say when you try to open a table ?

Remove the NOJUNK to use.

Thanks for replying LittleSmudge.

No, I do not use the Access Security Model. However, I did try to open a sample db that I downloaded off the Internet around the time that this problem stated. I also use eBay’s Turbo Lister.

Whenever I try to open, delete or modify a table I get a small dialog box that shows the “!” icon with the word “Unknown” and an ok button.
