Crystal 7 -- calling a report from an active server page. I can open the report and manually refresh the data from the web server, but when I call the report from the page, I get an error message saying that crystal was unable to open the database. teh report is pointing to the correct location. It is an Access database, and I am using the ActiveX Smart Viewer to view the report.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Yes. The browser can access the folder in which the database resides. It's not complicated. I have two folders, one for the pages and database, and one for the reports. The simplicity of it is why it confuses me that I am getting any error at all. It is set up correctly. Could it be anything on the web server itself -- incomplete installation, etc?

If the report is saved with data does it work? If so, this would point to a problem between the report and the database.

What was the exact error? You may be able to research this on the seagate knowledge base (see the FAQ) Ken Hamady
