I have created an access 2000 front end for an oracle database which when i open it, prompts me for the password and then goes no further. No errors are generated, it just sits there as if I had done nothing. The recent databases in the file menu is not updated when i try to open the database. Tried a backup and that opens with no errors but would like to use this one as it had a few changes in it. Also tried compacting but that does the same - looks like it'll work but just does nothing after enterring the password.

make sure that the opening form is correct, get into the database window, and make sure you can open the opening form there, if you can, i don't know... JHauge@jmjpc.net
Life is change. To deny change is to deny life.

Can't open the database window - get same problem each time. asks for password and does nothing.

You didn't explain what is expected to happen. Are you running a query, expecting it to return Oracle data? If so, are you sure the Oracle database contains rows which meet the query conditions?

My apologies. I am expecting the access database to open. There are no problems on the oracle side as backups of the access front end open which are connected to the same oracle database.

The access front end should open on a switchboard like main form to navigate elsewhere so no data is being fetched at this stage anyway.
