unable to locate gateway error

Hi. I'm migrating from our old cognos box to a new win2k server. I've got all up and running so far (it seems). I've tried to open up my old reports in Impromptu, at the 'catalog logon' form, when I press 'OK', it prompts with the error Error number -53: "DMS-E-YV_SGNIOLIB, Unable to locate the gateway 'msdba.dll'.

I did a file search for this file, and successfully found it on the server. Has anyone ran across this before?

Make sure you have database connectivity (native or ODBC) setup on the new server. I suspect the error involves this.

Hey, that was it! Thanks man! Up for another question on why i cant hit the login screen from a web browser? i've tested it with a simple test.htm page, so i know that IIS is running fine on it. it's just bombing on

I'd check the LDAP setup. Are you using the old LDAP server, or did you install a replacement on the new server.
