when the computer starts it says it needs a driver for the new device, problem is i did not add anything, or change anything. the computer searches for a driver, but never finds it. ive pointed it to the cabs file, and the machine still can't find the driver. i pulled out the modem and the netcard, and i still get the never ending loop of new hardware found.
in the meantime, i've pulled the hard drive and copied everything i think that i need to back up. I'm not completly sure though. this happens to be my companies main accounting machine. it has the master copy of peachtree and all the files. i pullde the hard and copied the entire peachtree folder on another machine, i hope i can get it back on in case I have to restore the me machine.
any ideas?

well, i backed up the hard and burned it. if anybody has had a similar problem i would still be interested in knowing what the issue may have been for future reference
thanks-

Did it ever tell you what hardware driver it was searching for? Did you ever look under the Device Manager to see if you had any yellow question marks are red Xs?
