Hello,

PC on LAN ,connected to ISP via ADSL.No other PC's have problems.

first: my PC stopped being able to browse the internet, so I checked DHCP setting to find it go an "auto" IP address. I have manually configured TCP/IP settings and address of local DNS Servers and can PING network devices OK.

I still cannot browser the internet.

I tried to log onto Domain, but couldn't. I can type in UNC path to resources and browse OK, but cannot LOGIN to domain.

I have disconnected PC from Domain in an attempt to reconnect.....but can't.

From the command prompt, I can PING with DNS names.

So....does this PC have a serious problem with DNS. How do I resolve?
Help!!!!

Try taking your PC off the domain, change the name of the computer and then try reregistering it back onto the domain.

Thanks for reply:

have tried that. I have removed Computer name from Active Directory too.
Renamed PC and rebooted etc and still cannot join domain.
If I log on locally, I can browse to shares using UNC path, so I assume TCP and Network card are OK?

Any other ideas?

Thanks......winsock was corrupted. All OK now. Thanks.
My headache can go away now!
