hello experts,

I have Windows 2000 Pro with SP4

Awhile back, I uninstalled IIS 5. Now I need to reinstall it and I'm having problems.

When I use Add/Remove Programs --> Windows Components, it says "Setup cannot copy the file infoctrs.ini - Change path or insert the 2000 Pro CD"

I've searched the hard drive and this file is not there. I don't have the Windows 2000 Pro install CD because IBM didn't include one when I purchased this PC.

Also, IIS cannot be downloaded from Microsoft's site so I'm stuck.

Does anyone have any advice on how I can install IIS (5 or 6 ) ? I need it as a prerequisite to installing SQL Server 2005.

Thanks! John

Well, the file you need is in the i386 directory located on the Windows CD. Since you have service pack 4 installed, you may find what you are looking for here:
C:\WINNT\ServicePackFiles\i386.

If not, you just need to get your hands on that CD. Check the IBM disks that you have, the install disk should contain to OS files.

Oh... another thing. IIS 5 or 6, will not install on Win2k Pro. Only PWS will install.
