Hi!

I have been trying to insert page numbers in MS Word 2007 by going to Insert tab on the ribon, but there I could not see any page number designs in the gallery. I then went to MS Word Help and the troubleshooter told me to go to Word Options, then to Add-ins and to reenable the Building Bolcks.dotx But the thing is, there is no Building Blocks.dotx in the disabled add-ins list. I tried reinstalling MS OFFICE 2007 but that did not sove the problem. What should I do? Of course I kept the old MS Office 2000 when installing the 2007, so I can first create a new document in OFFICE 2000 with page numbers and then open it with OFFICE 2007 and then do what I have to do, but you know.. that's stupid, why did I then buy the new version for?!!

I would be very, very thankful if someone could tell me how to reactivate this important feature.
Thanx!

The Building Blocks.dotx file should be in folder "%appdata%\Microsoft\Document Building Blocks" or a locale-specific subfolder (1033 for US English, for example). If you have reinstalled I would expect it to be there, so what do you see under Insert > Page Number?

Enjoy,
Tony

SYMPTOMS
When you try to insert a page number in a Microsoft Office Word 2007 document, the page number options and the gallery styles for the Top of Page, Bottom of Page, Page Margins, or Current Position settings may be unavailable or missing.

For example, when you click Page Number in the Header & Footer group on the Insert tab and then point to Top of Page, the Save Selection as Page Number (Top) option is unavailable.

Additionally, you may experience one or more of the following symptoms:
• You receive an error message that states that the "Building Blocks.dotx" template is missing.
• The Building Blocks Organizer is empty. Additionally, the options in the organizer are unavailable. Alternatively, nothing happens when you click an option.

Note To open the Building Blocks Organizer, click Quick Parts in the Text group on the Insert tab, and then click Building Blocks Organizer.
• The page number options and the gallery styles for headers or for footers may be unavailable or missing when you click Header or Footer in the Header & Footer group on the Insert tab.
