I am not a programmer, but I've loved Paradox since version 3.5. I have a simple Paradox table which, for formatting reasons, looks better with its data exported to a WordPerfect Table. I created two different WP Tables to hold two different sorts of the Paradox data. Up until July 2007, I had no problem updating the links to the two separate WP tables I had created. I am running version 11.0.0.411. I have no problem exporting to one of the WP tables, but I get the following message if I re-sort the table and try to export it to the other WP Table: "Directory is locked. Directory: F\Databases\etc". I've checked and the I have "No Lock" checked for the Paradox table.

I can't find anything relevant in my manuals or by searching on either the electronic help or on this site. What's changed and how do I fix it?

Never tried doing what you describe, but try this:

1. Make sure Paradox and WordPerfect are closed.

2. Search for paradox.lck and pdoxusrs.lck (they will appear in directories where Paradox tables live and may be "left over" if Paradox closes abnormally)

3. Fire up WordPerfect and try to import your table.

I managed to fix the problem eventually. I double-checked again that No Locks were set on all Tables in both Paradox and WordPerfect. I then recreated the links, discovering in the process that I had to completely close Paradox to link the tables. When I updated the WordPerfect Table I discovered that I had to be certain Paradox was completely closed (and not minimized). The links now work perfectly and I've written a description of what to do.

Thanks for you help
