I've created a text box by first clicking on the text box button, then dragging the Table field over to the form. But when I go to test it out, it won't let me type, does anyone know why this might be happening?

is there an error message? or something written in the STATUS BAR when you try to type? (status bar = grey bar on bottom of screen; in design mode it says "Design View". see if it says a message when you are in form view and trying to type something.)

Could be form properties 'allow edits= No'

I'm using a text field set at 255 char. for the source, is that the right type? Or should I be using Memo? And there are no errors at the bottom of the screen.

Is it based on a table or a query?--if a query check the join type

maybe a daft q but do the other feids dragged from the field list work or is it just this field?

None of the text fields work, I have a problems field and a solution field, and neither of them allow me to type. And this is based on a table, not a query.

another dumb question: can you type directly into the table?
what if you start over, use the form wizard to create it's own form--does that work?

Didn't work. What data type should it be in my table? Text?

And in the Form, should it be a textbox?

can you type directly into the table?
what are the fields and data types in your table?

I think you locked that control(text box) by mistake!
check textbox property locked=No

Hope this helps... :)

I can't type directly in the box, I keep getting a warning sound (ding! :S, and no message appears in the status bar at the bottomThe fields are: Problem - type is text and the other field is solution and the type is text.

I have also tried setting the types to memo to no avail, and the locked option is set to no.

Hi!

If you want, you can email the Db to me and I will check out the problem. You will have to zip it since our Outlook security doesn't allow .mdbs through.
