I am not able to download anything from internet, but i am able to browse web pages. I don't know what i messed up. I messed with drivers during scsi controller and scanner installation. I did not install them right yet. that question is for later. Can anybody suggest what could have gone wrong and a solution for that. The cable modem is fine and i verified with the provider too.

Unable to download from Internet

Can you elaborate on what happens when you try to download a file. Remember that surfing the web downloads files to your machine. Do you receive an error? If so what is it? Also have you noticed if it's only a particluar file type (MP3, PDF, etc) or if it affects all file types?

I tried to download yahoo messenger on my machine and i even tried to download real player from their site and i had the same problem. Nothing happens. The downloading window comes and stays. thats it. the browser is IE. The downloading is so slow. like 4.5kb/s
