It worked for years and now I can not use a modem and get into the system with Asst. E. It is a 2 cab Pro with Rel. 2.2. I have changed the IMOD and the CBMOD. As well as changed the clocking soruce from one PRI to another. It is running Version No. 516.

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you all in advance.

Assuming you can still administer it using the serial port with the supplied cable, make sure that you have not changed the DID number for the IMOD modem to something you don't know.

Now the annoying thing is I KNOW there is a place to set what that extension is - I just have looked 1/2 hour and I can't find it - althought I have the latest version of Manager E and they might have hidden it somewhere. I know the default extension before I changed it was something like 890, but I use 4-digit extensions and it had to be inside my DID block...

Sorry I can't be more help, but if I find it I will come back and post.

Thanks for the idea, that number should be in the transfer screen under the call back connection tab.

I will check that tonight.

The supplied cable you mention - is that a null modem. I can't find mine and need to get one.
Thanks,
Kim

I'm sorry - I never bothered to check if the cable was null or not, but I would easily assume it is because you are connecting a PC directly to the serial port on the card. I don't see why a standard 9 - 25 serial cable with a null adapter would not work, but either way - if you do it that way it will work either with or without the adapter.

I have still been searching for the place where you change the DID number setting in the system - there is one place yet I have not looked and that is in the communication port setup functions that are only available by using AsstE in "Online" mode and dialing codes on the fake phone, or through programming mode on a memory phone - however I could have sworn I was able to do it through the software once upon a time.

Yes the cable needs to be a null modem, either a null modem cable or a serial with a null modem adapter will work as well. I have used both. I have found that comp usa has most of these things or alot of smaller business computer shops have these or the ability to get them.

If you still have a difficult time finding something that will work let me know and I will find out where we get ours from.

As for where to change the DID to dial in it is in the transfer screen under "callback connection".

Hope this helps.
