I am unable to delete the lock file in the production folder(s) of several app today. People are unable to load the app they get "File in use error" ...When I try to delete the lock file, I get "cannot find the file" error.

How do you recover from this one....Thanks

Why can't you delete the lock file? Please continue with that error.

If you can't delete it because the lock file is in use, disable the network card (to forcefully kick users off the computer) then delete the file.

Hope this gets you closer to the solution.

Turns out the help desk (network guys) are handling the issue.

But that opens up another can of worms.
The network people installed a Microsoft operating system patch last night, and it appears that some people had left their access applications open. This patch affected the apps that were open.

I need a routine to shut down an access application if there is no activity for 60 minutes.
Is there anything like that out there.

Thanks
