I have created a package a month ago which has been installed in 15 PCs. just 2 days back a small change was made in 1 of the forms of the project.
Since this change was made, I had to create a new EXE and then create the package by using the Package and Deployment Wizard.
However, while making the EXE file i get an error which reads as
"Unexpected error occured in code generator or linker. --View Error Messages? YES / NO / Cancel " If I click on YES it opens the Errror message in a Notepad file. which reads as follows:
" D:\QIR 02 Dec\Error Register\Quality Improvement Register.frm(715) : fatal error C1001: INTERNAL COMPILER ERROR
(compiler file 'e:\work\utc2\src\P2\main.c', line 495)
Please choose the Technical Support command on the Visual C++
Help menu, or open the Technical Support help file for more information"

I have already tried re installing VB on my PC but it still continues to give me the same problem.

Kindly provide me a solution.

This is very urgent since I need to install the package on 5 more PCs but I am unable to do it bcoz of this error.

Have you tried to rename your project file? I found this stopped a similar problem I was having.

BB

rename the project or rename the entire file in another folder

I saved the project in a different folder still it gives the same error. Please help this is urgent

create a new project and import the forms, modules etc and use this to create the exe

could u plz tell me a bit in detail of how i cud do that

open vb, start a new standard exe project and save it. add all the references you need and then click the project menu item to add all the forms, modules etc that existed in your old project. save, compile and create the .exe.
