I've installed SP2 and have rebooted numerous times since the the install. The other night I rebooted after removing SQL2000 eval and now I have no DUN connections. I use DSL (Earthlink/Covad) and also had a VPN to the office. When I try to install any DUN connection nothing happens. When I look at event log all I find is a:
Error 20035 Rasman RAS Conn Mgr could not create Buffers
and then I get a Error 7023. When I start the service manually I get "Access Denied" Even when I try to add a new DUN the VPN option no longer show.

Any help would be great. Check MS no luck.
Thanks!

Have you tried reinstalling sp2? It is possible that the uninstall of SQL2000 snatched a needed DLL.

Yep, Done that! Tried it last night, with no luck. It is really wierd.

I get the same message under win 2k server sp4 trying to use routing and remote access (which depends on remote connection manager or something).

the is KB article at MSoft, that applies to winxp, and some say it has helped even on win2k. but not for me!

I fixed my problem by removing a KB security update pack. I forget the exact number, it was like 82380 or something close. Sorry can't be more exact!

Hope it helps. If someone has the exact number, please share!
