Unable to create an MDE file.

When I attempt to create an MDE file from my database the program hangs with the message "Make MDE" displayed on the message bar.
If I look in the destination folder, there is a file called
db1.mdb which is the same size as the original database.
I guess this is some sort of working copy.
I have been able to create an mde file for this database in the past.

Any suggestions as to what is causing the process to hang would be appreciated.

You may want to try TOOLS, Database Utilities, Compact & Repair database.

Then, open a form in design view, click the "Code" button on the toolbar, then in the Code view click the "Debug" tab and select "Compile"

then try makeing the mde again.
