Hi,
when I bring a report, created either with CR8.5 or with CR11 to CE10, I can run it without problems. If I start the report a 2nd time, I get the following error: "Unable to connect: incorrect log on parameters". I have to restart CE to run the report a 2nd time. As I read, the report should be saved without data. It didn't help. This report also doesn't have a sub report.
Any ideas?

This is a CE query, but are you definitely inserting the correct details in the Database tab, and hitting update to commit the change?

Furthermore, can you preview the report successfully from the Properties tab?

Thanks for the quick reply. I entered the correct Logon parameters (user/password). What do you mean with the Properties tab? If you mean the parameter screen - yes, this a get, enter the parameters and press the OK button. Afterwards I get the error message.
In the mean time I tried something more: Instead of entering a "*" as wild card for the parameter, I used i.e. "M*" and as of now I don't get this problem anymore? Could it be, that CE has problems using the "*" alone as wild card without any further information?

It's me again. I hoped that it was solved with not entering a "*" only. But unfortunatelly it isn't. Today I got the same problem again: Run the report on CE10 with a fully entered parameter -> no problem. Run the report again with a fully entered parameter -> got this strange error. Who can help?

We might have to take this into the CE forum, but can you see whether it's the same server running all these jobs, or do you have duplicate servers? It sounds like the successful jobs are using one correctly configured server, and the ones that fail are using the other one.

Thanks for your quick reply again. Each of the 10 servers I have only once in the list. Could it be, that it's somehow related to ODBC, which I use to get a connection the Oracle database?

If you are doing exactly the same thing more than once, and getting inconsistent results, the report is not using the same processes each time, which implies it has a choice of services.

Is your machine clustered? And are you inheriting your connectivity from the report, or setting it in CE via the database tab?

The machine is not clustered. The connectivity is set in the report, but a prompt asks me for entering the database setup - selected check box in the database tab(which is not really used, because it is already set in the report).
