Hello All. I have just gotten the Base Tray on my BCM 400 replaced and I am having problems getting my voicemail to work properly.

I am able to leave voicemail in mailboxes just fine, but when trying to check voicemail with Feature 981, the voicemail automatically Exits. When dialing the voicemail DN, I have the same problem. Any ideas on what I may have done wrong/not have done?

Also, I am unable to check voicemail from an outside location. Dialing in and hitting ** automatically exits the system. Any ideas on how to fix this as well?

I am new to this, so these may seem like remedial questions, but any help would be appreciated!

Probably nothing you have done wrong. I've seen this happen a couple different times. It has almost always been a corrupted keycode issue. I would suggest contacting the vendor that replaced the BFT and explain to them what you are experiencing - they should be able to resolve the issues themselves, or at least get a case open with Nortel to have them do it if they aren't familiar with the process.

Just an off the wall question, but how does the keycode get corrupted?

The keycode problem appears to be correct. I was looking at the Event Log and had this error repeating.

2006/11/28 12:56:22 FtLog buffer overrun attempted. See Module, Function, and ret code below:
2006/11/28 12:56:22 VM
2006/11/28 12:56:22 Current number of mbxes is greater than keycoded limit
2006/11/28 12:56:22 rc=13(0xd)

Seems to happen when the system constantly reboots itself, or gets the power cord yanked.

You can try this. Make sure you write down your keycode numbers first.

delete sekur file (d:\data files\nortel networks\voice cti

delete keycodehistory.kif (d:\data files\nortel networks\licensing

Reboot, reapply keycodes

Proceed at your own risk - sometimes this works, sometimes it makes things worse.
