unable to change name in directory system will not take update

Hi There-trying to update a new name using the admin function #2. Go to the person's extension to update the name and it is not being accepted. I saw somewhere on this site in Avaya responses..that the letters are corresponded to numbers? a= 21. where is the list ? is this what I need, any assistance would be helpful

it provides a list of #'s associated with letters.

You don't even need the list.

Press the button that has the letter on it, and then press the position of the number.

Button 2 has A, B, and C. So A is 21, B is 22, C is 23.

Button 7 has P, Q, R, and S. P is 71, Q is 72, R is 73, and S 74.
