HI,
I changed my home page to and now it will not change to anything else!
I can select any other site using 'internet options' or the home page drop down fron the toolbar, delete bbc and choose say ' apply, clear history, clear cookies, clear temp files, and apply and even restart but as soon as I go back into IE7 then the home page has returned to bbc news.
Any clues?
(I am running Win XP pro SP2 + all recommended updates and Internet Explorer 7.0.5730.11)
many thanks,
Seji.

Have you tried adding another site to the list (so when IE7 opens, it will be with two tabs open), then deleting the BBC link

Do you have any anti-spyware/anti-malware software installed that might be restricting the ability to change the home page?

Yes, I tried adding other sites to the list and choosing the new one before deleting the bbc one, it just came back as bbc!

I am running Nod32 anti-virus and Webroot Spysweeper.
I hadn't considered that they may be influencing this problem, I'll try changing sites with one or both disabled for a few minutes.

The problem seems to be common to all 4 of our computers!
more later.

Thanks Smah,
I shut down Webroot Spysweeper and IE7 accepted the change of home page on the first try!
I started Spysweeper back up and all is working perfectly.
At least I know Spysweeper is doing one of it's jobs, I would have expected some kind of pop up notification that it was blocking a change though.
Many Thanks.
Seji.
