I removed home entry in etc/auto_master and then tried to create user directory under /home I get a message failed to create -operation not applicable.......Am I missing something here?

Thanks a million

Jaya

Local users' home directories should be created under /export/home.

But if you really want to use /home, if you restart autofs it should allow you to create dirs under /home:

[tt]/etc/init.d/autofs stop
/etc/init.d/autofs start[/tt]

Oh, Solaris 10.... svcadm restart autofs.

What's everyone's experience of the new svcs, svcadm arrangements in Solaris 10? Is it an improvement?
