Unable to browse with IE 6.0

Here's the situation: I am able to surf the Internet using Internet explorer version 6.0.2800.1106 but after approximately five to 10 minutes I am unable to surf. However, Yahoo Messenger and MSN messenger continue to work and I am able to chat with other people. I disconnect and reconnect to my ISP but I am unable to use Internet explorer. I am able to use Yahoo messenger MSN messenger. I reboot my system and I am able to surf for five to 10 minutes then IE gives me the 404 error message that it cannot find the site. And as long as I keep rebooting I can surf for 5-10 minutes, but I can use Yahoo and MSN messengers indefinitely.

System: Athlon 2500XP running Windows XP and I have installed the latest updates.

Internet connection: Verizon Voyager a wireless high-speed I S P. And I have called the company and there are no service outages.

What I have already tried:
1. System restore
2. Norton anti virus which found two Trojan horses PWSteal and PWS.Hooker. They were deleted and afterwards I turned off system restore and ran Norton anti virus again. I also ran TrendMicro's anti-viral software.
3. Reinstalling Windows on top of itself
4. Installing new drivers for the motherboard

Please let me know what other pieces are needed to solve this problem. Any suggestions would be much appreciated. Thank you

Reinstall Internet Explorer.

There's always a better way. The fun is trying to find it!

Thanks for the tip...I installed Netscape and the same thing happens. Any more ideas?
