I'm working on a computer for a guy and the thing won't boot whenever he hooks his Maxtor 80GB 5000LE USB hard drive to the machine. Boots fine when the drive isn't connected and, if you hook the drive up after Windows has loaded, it recognizes it just fine, but he'd like to not have to disconnect and reconnect it all the time. I've tried hooking it up to both the USB hub he uses and directly into the USB connection on the machine. When the drive is hooked up, the boot hangs before the BIOS even loads fully, so I'm thinking the problem must be with the interaction between the BIOS and the hard drive, but I can't figure out the problem. Any help you can offer would be greatly appreciated!
