Client has recently upgraded to 64 bit Win 7 machine at one workstation and also has new 64 bit server. Peachtree Quantum v 2011 is the db & CR 2008 SP2 is her v of crystal. She was running fine on an old XP 32 bit with same db + CR. Due to server being changed, the database path is changed. When trying to point report to new path using OLE DB, an error occurs. "Logon Failed. Details: ADO Error Code: 0x Source: Pervasive PSQL OLE DB Provider Description: -4977: The data buffer parameter is too short"

Even though this is on 64-bit machine, Crystal is a 32-bit app and it will not connect using the 64-bit database drivers. Make sure that she has the 32-bit database driver installed and try again.

A computer only does what you actually told it to do - not what you thought you told it to do.

Thanks Dell, Most of my experience lies with report development. I don't really get under the hood of crystal itself. Can you please tell me how do I verify whether she has the 32 bit driver installed? Where do I get that driver & where do I put it? I think that may definitely be the trouble. Dave

Where you get the driver depends on the database. I would assume that Peachtree has the 32-bit drivers available.
