Hi,

I have a Solaris 7 box, and am trying to add packages like perl, and gcc. However, I am unable to do so because of space constraints. However, we have a new disk mounted, and this has sufficent space available. Is there anything I could do, to install these packages ?

I was told to try using pkgadd -R option, and also chroot, but still I am unable to add. Maybe I am not using these options correctly.

Can somebody tell me the options available for me ?

Regards,
Rajan

Thanks for the suggestion.

I have checked the manual and this is when I got the -R option.

Packages have their default directories. (/opt etc)

If you want to add the package on to the new hard disk, change the default value by changing the basedir.(/var/sadm/insatll/admin/default)
