Unable to access webmail via the internet

Hi...I'm really new to Exchange Server so please bear with me.

We are running Exchange Server 2003 on a Windows 2003 server box...when I go to the webmail URL internally, the webmail pops right up. However, if trying to access webmail via the internet...it times out with a 404 (DNS) error.

Is there maybe a service that I need to check and see if it's running? Any suggestions would be really really appreciated!

What URL are you using from the net? how is this server on the net? Is it behind a firewall? If so then check there to ensure you are passing port 80.

The url is:

http://webmail/domainname.com/exchange

The server is on the network with a private IP address...and has ISA Server with port 80 open.

Thing is..it was working fine on Monday..and just stopped working.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
