I am unable to access the Information Store on our Exchange 2000 Server. When logged on as Administrator, I am unable to stop/start/restart the Information Store Service. When I right-click on properties, I receive an error message from the MMC: "Unable to open ISStore for reading on local computer. Error 5: Access is denied" When I log on as another service account I can start/stop/restart the service. We had a contrator working on our server and I think that he might have changed some permissions on the server.

Please help.

Has anyone ever experienced this problem? Does anyone know what permissions must be set for the IStore to work properly?

I greatly appreciate any suggestions.

Thanks
Joe

Does your account have rights delegated in Exchange System Manager at the Org? Dan

Yes the account has delegated rights. What is weird is that the account that the IStore works on does not have delegated rights. But that is not to say that it never had those rights. Joe
