hi,

i am able to ping the computername
anyone where could be wrong?
thanks

I did not get if it happened when you tried to map a network drive or just tried to enter that share.

1) try checking the share.
sometimes the share is limited to X number of users.
2) try connecting or mapping using ip instead

3) use command line for mapping
"net use t: \\computername\share"

4) sometimes share are for specific domain/ domain users
make sure you are connected to the domain or you have
privilege of accessing this share.

Try this; we migrated from NT domain to 2K domain. File server had a local account that was associated to my nt domain login. After migration, I can't access server anymore. The error read "the referenced account is currently locked out" Once I deleted the local account on the server everything worked fine.

Check the machine you're trying to access and see if there's an account on it for you that is locked out.

It MAY mean that the user has attempted to login to the share with an invalid password. Have your Network admin reset the account.

Hello Kendas,

Ok...It sounds to me like you're actually going about the mapping the wrong way....Try this

Right click on MyNetworkPlaces \ Map Network Drive \Select Drive Letter \and in Folder area type in your Path \ and then click on "connecting using a different username" and type in your Domainname\username and YOUR Network Password \ then just click OK and Finish.
