Hi!

I have Ultra DMA 133 TX Promise controller with two IDEs installed on one of the PCIs slots. Whenever i connect a hard drive/CDROM to the card and boot, i'm getting this message: "There is no Ultra DMA 133 bios installed because there are no drives attached" which is very strange to me because the drives are attached, and, moreover, recently I upgraded the Ultra DMA 133 bios.

In other words the controller doesn't see the drives/devices attached to it.

My system is AMD XP 2000+, ECS K7S5A.

Any suggestions?

Yes, i solved the problem! I played with IRQs'. I moved the card to different slots and it started to work. I connected my hard drive and my cd-burner to the controller, and it detected these devices!!!

Thank you!
Special thanks to Kim Leece who spent so much time on this problem.

Hi EugeneTR,
I'm really happy to hear that it's fixed - well done! I hope it continues to work properely. I don't know what anyone elses experience is with Promise hardware - I have a Promise on-board RAID controller, on an Asus A7V333 board, it gave me problems at first as well (I had to flash my mobo bios before the RAID setup would work properly) but it's been OK ever since.
Anyway, Thanks for the star - and a Happy New Year!

Kim Leece.
