I have a site in the UK that is connected via VPN to a site in the US. I want to able to use the local line in the US when a call is made to the US from the UK instead of having to incur international calling charges. Can this be done?

Thanks for the help!

Yes, station-to-station dialing between sites works great, They are running 4.0.7.

do you have an SCN or are they just ip lines?

i guess either way would be a system shortcode of

SC:001N (i think) pretty sure that is US dialcode, not got any friends there)
Feature: Dial
Tel No: 001N
line group id: the id of the line to the states

if you have SCN you could give people breakout keys

There is no SCN, just IP lines. I will give the SC a try and post the results. Thanks Tom

Tom, wouldn't you strip off the 001N in the Tel number field? Otherwise you will be dialling the code for America in America i,e just the N with the line id of the IP Link.

fair point! apologies Go1dfinger, nearly sent you off to get that wrong.

No harm no foul, I am setting it up stripping 001 in the Tel Field.

I created SC:

001N
Dial
N
IP Line

When a call is made from the UK dialing 001-xxxxxxxxx the phone says unobtainable and the Monitor tells me it is a Cause 34 -
No Circuit/Channel Available.
There are no channels available to handle this call. This may happen if the destination gateway is full with calls.

The Destination has lines available, does this have anything to do with the IP Line being set as H450?

I am at odds with this.

No, I have the same scenario as you and I have the same shortcode, also set to H450 and it works ok with me. Must be something else!

I have not implemented the below changes yet, I want to get some input on my thinking:

I created System SC:
001N
Dial
N
ARS-51

In ARS-51 I have the following SC:
001N
Dial
N;
2 (IP Line to US)

Am I way off base on my thinking or somewhat on the right path?

If it was the link the desk to desk dial would not work!

your ars 51 is slightly incorrect 001N will not trigger because the 001 will alread have been stripped by the system short code

as simple SC:? Tel:. line ID:2 will sufice for the ARS

I made the changes to the SC in ARS as suggested by IPGuru and made a test call, still get unobtainable and Cause Code 34.

What am I missing?

what is the Switch in the USA expecting to amke a call
if it needs a 9 then your short code will need to insert this
sc:? TN:9.
if this dosn't work you probably need to monitor the IPO in the USA to fing out why.

Got it to work thanks for all the help. IPGuru completed the puzzle, inserting the 9 allowed for the call to be routed through the US IPO.

Thanks again.
