Hi I tried to install a 2 channel simplified voice message card to a tda 15.
I need to know -
The TDA has 2 digit numbering, do I need to change it to 3?

How do I set handsets to - go to voicemail if busy, go to voicemail if unanswered (how do I set amount of rings?)

When plugging the card in and powering the system up, it killed all of the extensions (no dial tone or display) and the system seemed to be in limbo? When removing the SVM the system is fine. Faulty SVM??!
HELP!!!

answer to question one look in feature access codes
for svm over here its 591 should not have to change default
code unless you have already changed it to a 2 digit fac

answer to question 2 it may be a bad card but heres what I know about the stateside version svm 2 only works on -4's

possible that a version 1 and 2 are not compatible..S

Cheers,
What do you mean by working only on -4's?
The system is version 5 software.
The floating ext number(s) are 591, 592? I think?

did you tell the tda what slot its in ?does that slot
lit green in software?

No, If you run the mouse over Slot 9, it tells you what card ca go there and SVM is one.
I do not know if you can tell the slot what card is being installed - I thought that the system recognised what card had been installed.
When I installed it and the problems began, I went onto the "slot" menu and NO card showed!!
Almost like the insertion of the SVM wiped everything.
I then took out and switched back on - then got the same problem. Had to reset, remove SD, flick lock switch, switch on and reset before it all came back up.
Frightened to put the card back in!!!!!!!!!!!!!

well you drag and drop the card first then install
and as far as the system seeing the card yes it will during
intialization .were did the card come from is it new?
btw this will not act like a tva the best you will
get is basic internal voicemail after you get the unit
running i can tell you how to get the svm to irna like an answering machine ...

Cool...I noticed that the SVM card appeared above slot 9 on the Slot menu..Do I need to drag this into slot 9?
Will it then be "installed"?......and solve my problem.
The SVM is to act as a simple voicemail for extensions with a DDI?
I need to know how to get the SVM to kick in when a user is -
Busy.
Away from desk.
I take it that the handset (7668's) will light once a message is left?
PS - How are messages deleted, repeated etc when picked up by user? Is there prompts????????

I could just ring you from here much easier to talk
it only costs 2 cent per min!! from here ddi?

Do you have any literature? Kinda late here and daughter is sleeping!!!

not the uk/irish version sorry mate
I can tell you that all I did here was intially was connect with maint console drag and drop the svm were I was going to install it disconnected and shut the system off and
opened the ksu and popped the card in screwed it in

In your case you could do a backup first before
installing the card

then I turned it on waited for the system to start

then i fliped through the -4 feature manual and user
instructions for svm and recorded ogms for my needs
and that set the fwd b/na codes for those ext's to suit my needs....

I can get into how I got the svm to act like an answering
machine and lighting lights later once you get the svm seen
by the tda 15!!we don't use bri here but theory for
dil is the same.... Shawn

Cheers, but what do you meean by the -4 feature manual????

the -4 was the first rev that included svm so I RTB!!

The manual links above go to TDA100 and te206 (ICS website)??!?
I cannot find any literature on the svm - been looking today.
I did power up a spare version 2 and saw that slot 9 would not take a SVM.

Therefore (on the version 5 I have) do I need to click on slot, highlight the SVM, drag it into postion to install?
Would I then have to power down and then back on for the system to recognise the card?

a you take your mouse point at the svm card hold the left
button down and drag it to the slot

I'd say you better get all the dox for the -5 15

Tried that but it would not stay in the slot, after hitting refresh. However the card was not in the system (through fear of it crashing it again!!).
Therefore I deduce that card needs to be installed before telling the slot what card it is???????

you should just have to drag the card to the slot you'll be installing the card into and then it'll ask if you really wish to install it there. say yes or ok and then power off system. install card into that slot and that should solve that problem
