I need to do a ufsdump to a local fixed disk. I know there is an f option for this as a file to dump to. I would think that you would dump to a directory. Anyone used this or got any ideas?

Thanks

My understanding is that ufsdump will dump to a file, rather than placing individual files into a directory, rather in the way that tar dumps to a tar file. HTH.

ufsdump <level>fu <file you want to dump into> <filesystem you want to dump>

however ufsdump may not be the right tool for the job, why do you want to do this?

jad,

Just curious, what tool would be better?

Thanks
