Can anyone explain UDP and why you would use it? Thanks

UDP = Uniform Dial Plan. If you have multiple switches in your network and you want the ability to do 'streamline dialing', usually 4 or 5 digits. UDP giges you the ability to identify which extension blocks belong to each switch and point to the appropriate route pattern.

I also use UDP to nicely pass DID to my fax server via line sight T1 while Definity front all my ISDN PRI incoming traffic.
