Is it possible to have a two cabinet Definity PBX (V8) configured for 4-digit UDP and make calls across 2 DS-1's in the same PBX? I have done this between two separate Lucent PBX's, and when I try it within the same one, I get a busy tone. This will work also if I use a prefix first. It seems strange why it would not work with UDP. Are there any ideas out there? Is this type of configuration possible?

I dont see why this is not possible, you will need to asign an aar code in the UDP table to route out on the 2nd DS1.

Another way to do this is to partition your aar table and have a different rout-pattern route you over the 2nd ds1. This way you will need to give the calling party station a different COR.

Thanks for the reply...I tried everything. Maybe it cannot be done using UDP. Seems odd that I can do this using prefix dialing though. If I delete three digits, I get a busy signal. If I don't delete three digits, I get wave off. If I clear UDP, dial my tac (80), then dial the extension (4200), it works. I also have no trouble setting up this configuration between two separate Definity's.

Maybe a dumb question... but why would you want it to work this way? Just have your DID Trunks terminate in the PPN and connect the EPN with the DS1's and dial 4-digit extensions that way - no?

Not a dumb question...I have to try and set it up this way for testing purposes. Saving cash being the bottom line. This switch has no connection the outside world. It is in a test environment with 60 other PBX's that is used remotley through the Lan. It has a Map D which is connected to a Netmerge 6.0 server. I need to set the switch up this way to try and create a Multi-site type senario using one PBX because my other PBX which has a LAN Gateway is down. The Lan gateway crashed. We need to be able to see the events from both sides of the T connection.
