I was trying to connect from a v8 client to a v7 server,
the "attach" and " connect to db" is not working, plus some other commands. Is this normal or what? They are not compatible? ----------------------------------------
Power up your Notes/Domino if you know how to use it!
Q1: what is power?
Q2: what is up?
Q3: what is Notes/Domino? *&%$#@

Let me try to give a solution for you my friend. This is how I could connect.

To access a DB2 UDB Version 7 server on a Linux, UNIX, or Windows operating system from a Version 8 client, you must have Version 7 FixPak 8 or later installed on your server and have run the db2updv7 command. For instructions on installing FixPaks, refer to the FixPak Readme and Release Notes documentation

Downloaded the Version 7 FixPak 9 (FP9_WR21320.zip) from ftp://ftp.software.ibm.com/ps/products/db2/fixes/english- us/db2winv7/FP9_WR21320/ to your DB2 7.2 server machine

Then Follow the installation instructions given on FixpakReadme.txt file.

If any further problem pls reply the forum.
