I have a linux based CS1000E Rls 7.5. I had to change the IP addressing on it and was able to do so but for some reason I could not change the ip on the SS. It is a co res with a CPMGS card. I did an undeploy and tried then but I could still not change it. I tried deleting the node in EM and building new but it would not give me the choice to add an SS. I redeployed at which point it restarted on its own during the deployment. It booted into service and I can get to command line of the CS1K but I cannot web to UCM nor the IP address of the primary security server. Any ideas?

Changing IP's on linux based machines has never worked out well for me. I have always just reinstalled them. With that said, there is a tree view in UCM on the right side of the screen. Try deleting the server there and see if it will allow you to see the SS then. You also have to make sure you have uploaded an NAI file even though you are not actually going to deploy anything. Being CoRes I think you will have to reinstall it. You could try going to the old IP address of the SS by putting in the ip address followed by /local-login That will get you into base manager and you can change the IP's there.

That's just it I can't access UCM anymore. I can ping the IP address but I cannot access the web page.

Hopefully you have a good database back up and are able to reload it, I think that's your only option at this point. I'm curious though, what was your method of changing IP addresses? Did you do the baseparamsconfig through linux or how did you attempt this? CoRes are a little funky since everything basically shares that same ELAN IP address. I did one over the weekend also with System and Session Manager, I also had 2 signal servers and several media gateways. I started at 07:00 and finished at 17:30. We did have some network routing issues on the customer end and we had the System Manager preloaded but it was still a long day.

I originally changed them thru base manager under the network id. When I redeployed I can't access UCM so I went thru the baseparamsconfig and it showed my changes had been done.I changed the EM IP in EM but that is where I got stuck with the SS since it would not allow me to change it nor would it allow me to add an SS in the node properties.

re-install Linux... if this is a single system/site it only takes 2 1\2 to 3 hours to load, deploy and patch. Ive spent more time trying to change than it takes to re-install from scratch.

Thanks for the input guys. It looks as though its a re-install from scratch. You'd think changing an IP address wouldn't be that difficult. Not to fond of this system!

They didn't make it easy did they? I think the reinstall is your best bet. You could be fighting this for days when a reinstall will take a few hours.
