Has anyone had any long term success with these UC modules? When are the bad ones supposed to be cleared out of distribution? My quick VM Pro config last night turned into an all nighter when the UCM crashed and burned. Wife was not happy! I'm not on site so I can't check to see if it's a known defective unit, but obviously it is. :-(

There are reports of the new ones bombing out too, so best avoided completely where possible :)

Well it looks like App Server and Hyper-V to the rescue!

TexasBear there is no long term yet, Avaya replaced all units (or offered to do so) and long term for me is a 5 year service after that it can fail but should not until at least 10 year old (I had DOS based voicemails out there for 15 years without a hiccup)
I doubt that the UCM's will get that far or even close, I guess they will notice that they either have to fix them or throw them out (I hope the latter)
I have not one customer that I sold one to and I lost a few deals because I did not quote it but I rather lose a customer than my shirt because I have to constantly go there and upgrade or replace and stuff.
Apps server is good, I have one running for 2 years now and it has been rebooted once because my UPS was not enough to hold over the 5 hour power outage. It came back and runs since then. Love it, no maintenance other than upgrades but even those I just do because I like to tinker with it.

We've not had any luck with the UCM product. I hate to say it but I'm not sure Avaya has truly fixed this issue. We had replaced one just a week ago that failed and the "new" card crashed in less than 48 hours. I like the idea of the UCM but have been burned on all of the ones we've installed and would be hard pressed to recommend them to a prospective client.

Yep, replacing a "good" unit today, that crapped out within 2 weeks.

The 3 we have out we have under Advance parts replacement or whatever so If they fail Avaya is going to have to keep replacing them. If only we could invoice them for the our wasted time.
