We have always done our own software upgrades, license uploads, config changes etc.. but let our business partner handle the R8 > R11 for our IP 500 (v2) due to some time constraints. However our UCM wasn't installed in the control unit at the time so they didn't upgrade this (due to a site move and changing modules we needed).

I wasn't happy with their service especially seeing as the tech didn't even want to do the upgrade due to us having a IP 400 phone 30 (v2) and him saying no IP 400 stuff works in R11 and was just going to leave us with the software (I actually should of taken this option). I had to show him the release notes where it states its compatible.

Anyway we have all the admin, vm pro, user, one-x etc.. software for R11 but not for the UCM. What would our options be to get the firmware(s)/software version(s) needed for upgrading this? any public downloads as I feel like our current BP are going to be a little awkward to pass on the software or try to book another days engineer time (or push for us to use dedicated vm pro software/server) And yes we know a lot of engineers don't rate the UCM but its been stable for us and doesn't require us running anymore VM's or specific services on the existing ones.

System version is: 11.0.4.0.0 build 74
UC Modiles version: 8.1.0.99 build 2 v8.1.99-2.el6 (Voicemail: 8.1-9302.0_el6. one-X Portal: 8.1.94-60)

We have upgraded this module in the past on our own so no stranger to these.

Thanks for your replies.

Hi Bud,

If you've done a UCM upgrade before using USB then it's fairly normal. Just need the .iso and the USB creator tool from the support.avaya.com page. If you don't have access then ask your BP to provide them.

Section 5.9 of the Installing and Maintaining the UCM has the info you need, if you can get there.

Thanks, we dont have access to download anything from avaya still by the looks on it. it was more about obtaining the iso. Will give our BP a try and see if they will send across (wont hold my breath though)

Would there be any justification to them charging for it? except for the time taken to download and send. Do we have entitlement to the UCM iso when we upgraded the control unit to R11?
