I am trying to upgrade a UCM module from R10 to R11. I upload the iso through web manager solutions setting, i choose upgrade and it appears to go through the upgrade normal. i even get a message saying its been upgraded with no errors. However, the UCM reboots and when it comes back on it shows R1 as the version with R11 as the available upgrade. Why does it appear the upgrade is completing and upon reboot its back at R10?

FYI, IPO, has already been upgrade to R11.1, thats my end goal with the UCM. But everything I've read on hear said its best to step upgrade it.

Are you talking R11.0 or R11.1?

In order to upgrade to R11.1 there's a separate upgrade proceess as the underlying CentOS doesn't have an easy upgrade route.

Sorry, I see the mention of R11.1 in your second post. You need to upgrade the UCM to 11.0.4.3 first and then follow the special process. It may be better to wait for 11.0.4.4 which is imminent but also has an improved upgrade process.

Having been working on UCMs all last week, if you'r looking at the status in SSA, following an upgrade some of the version info shown doesn't update until you force screen refresh by doing something like clearing alarms and then coming back to the SSA screen.

what special process are you referring to in regards to 11.0.4.3?

Read the technical bulletin for 11.1, a link for it is on the same page as the 11.1 software on support.avaya.com. It explains that you need to upgrade to 11.0.4.3 before upgrading to 11.1 and has a link for the document for upgrading to 11.1.

i did read it, but's not very clear. i'm going to try to go to r10.1 first jsut to see if i can.

also, the system always seems to get hung up on Transferring at 90%. It doesn't matter what version i try to transfer, it also hangs at 90%. When looking at SSA it still shows i have 10GB free and the free disk counter doesnt go down, so I shut it down and restart it and it shows an upgrade is available.

just tried to upgrade to 10.1 and its doing the same thing, it goes through the upgrade fine and complete, it reboots and comes back up on r10, not 10.1

should we send a tech out with USB to see what happens?

right now it still says available upgrade version is 10.1, but i just ran that upgrade, it rebooted came back up as r10 and is still saying r10.1 available.

Try going into the module's web control menus on 7071 and in the Upgrades menu run Clear Local Cache a few times. Then try ISO transfer again.

If ISO transfer still isn't working then fallback to USB upgrade key. If the module is remote but you have SSA access, mail the key to someone trusted and then run the process remotely.

I've done it with USB upgrade. But like Sizbut says you need to go to 11.0.4.3 first before 11.1 there are centos options that need to be installed before going 11.1. Done two now with usb and both have been successful. If you still have issues with the Web would suggest you use the usb.

well, we ended up on R11.0.4.3 via the USB fresh install and will just leave it there.

Now i have saved the vmpro database file, the acount folders, grettings, etc. How can i upload these? i tried using winscp, but am getting the persmisions error? i tried to do the chmod via putty, but it doesnt seem to exist. any guidance would be appreciated.
