I'm attempting to remotely upgrade a UC module from 9.1.6 to 9.1.7 but I'm getting the following error when I transfer the ISO: Last transfer operation failed. Reason: Insufficient space on the device. The UCM has 8 GB of free space and the ISO is only 2 GB. Any idea what could be causing this?

try a reboot, always a good thing with Avaya if it doesn't work.

Great idea, but I probably should have mentioned that I already rebooted. Oops!

I was not sure but thought it would be worth a shot.
Did you verify the download with md5
after that I am clueless on what would be the reason for it not to work

Yep, the MD5 matches. I also tried uploading it via FTP as well as the Web Admin page. No idea what the problem could be.

Did you check the release notes or deployment guides how much space is needed? I think it needs space for the uploaded ISO, for the unpacked files and potentially space for backing up the older files during upgrading. Most space will be free again after upgrading.

UCM tends to create really big log files. Especially /nohup.out.

Check it's size with ls -lah / and delete it if it's big. Reboot the UCM afterwards to really free the space after deleting the file.

Thanks derfloh. I took a closer look at the tech bulletin and it looks like this is a known issue that the latest service pack supposedly fixes. IPOFFICE-105658 Upload of SP5 to UCM fails at 87% with error "Insufficient space on device"

I guess I'll have to go with the USB upgrade.
