Guys,

We are testing the new UCA Client over VIEW (Virtualized VmWare Desktop) and we have noted that responses from UCA Client are extremely slow. i.e. Placing a call can take up to 4-5 seconds before the called number starts ringing. The same happens when trying to hang up, when clicking hang-up and it may take several seconds to terminate the call.

However, Voice quality is supperb!! Audio both ways no problem, we are using USB headsets for the lab.

Scenario is as follows:

vMCD, vMAS, vMBG, VIEW-UCA Plugin on every PC. All are latest versions available on MOL.

Data Center is provided with Internet connection of 10Mbps (symetrical). At the far end VIEW clients are connecting from residential ADSLs of about 20Mbps/1.5Mbps.

Any ideas what can be causing this delay?

Must probably that we will be opening a ticket this week, just wanted to ask if someone has come across a similar problem before.

Regards,

Daniel

Have you tried disabling any firewall/antivirus solutions on the VMWare Desktop, I have had huge delays caused by an antivirus program. Although not on VMWare, it was a standard windows machine.

You running anything else on the view desktop that is pokey? I would imagine the voice is not being carried through the view client but is being streamed between the end points so its no surprise that audio might be fine. My thoughts is that its something relating to performance in the view based desktop.

I'd tell you a UDP joke but I'm afraid you won't get it. TCP jokes are the best because you always get them.

Came upon this thread researching 'trend micro slow uca mitel'. I support desktops in a network that just had a Mitel system installed. When trend client is unloaded there is any immediate response from the desktop client. When loaded, even with the Mitel folder and executeables exempted from real-time scans, it delays 5-10 seconds, sometimes longer.

Any further suggestions on what to exempt? I also turned off behavior monitoring. I have to get Trend to work with Mitel UCA(.exe).

How much memory is avalable on the host PC? Sounds like the host PC is running low on memory and is swaping to the hard drive, slowing down the UCA.

You need to be excluding the Mitel folder in your profile and not the one in program files.
On windows 7 the path would be C:\Users\Boycey\AppData\Roaming\Mitel\UC
