Hi,
I have a UC Module 8.0 it was working well until we had to change the IP Address of the UC Module and the IP Office, It all went down hill after that. The UC stop form communicating to the IP Office We are getting error "voicemail pro/ lite fail to connect to the control unit. Incorrect password. PC IP Address 169.254.0.2" We have not change any password.

What we did was login to the UC module from the web browser and change the IP address form 192.168.42.200 to 192.168.1.3 and we change the IP address in the IP Office too 192.168.1.2. We never touch the VM IP which is 169.254.0.2.

I am stomp any help would be greatly appreciated.

Did you reboot the UCM after the IP address change?

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

To see if the link comes back up In the IP Office VM Tab I would add the New UC web LAN address you changed in the UC mod to. To me it sounds like you enter the address in the wrong spot or something is corrupted. With a HDMI cable and keyboard plug into the front of the UC mod. You should be able to get into the Linux side and look to see what the IP address is of eth 0. This is if you remember what you change the root password too. If all else fails you can create a new config with a usb drive. This will wipe out all data on it and default everything.

I have been trying to reload it over However, using the USB but It will load from the USB I already tried 3 USB drive.

You have prepared the USB with the USB initiator. I use version 2.0.44 with a Scan Disk USB You also must use the correct ISO file and no other ISO files can be in there.

Below is a example make sure your FW is correct to your IPO

IP Office Unified communications Module (UCM) - Full Installation Image (c110-8.1.98-1_el6.iso)

This is the complete .iso image of 8.1 UCM software including all Operating System and IP Office Applications to enable a full installation of the UCM Module software. Using this software will erase any previous configuration on the UCM. The software is installed using the USB connector on the front of the card. Please ensure you refer to the Unified Communication Module Installation & Maintenance Manual and read the relevant Technical Bulletins for full details of the installation procedure.

Thiese things Break from time , please check the UC module Heartbeat on Status Monitor if all is working fine

I have never seen the IP address of a UCM be successfully changed to a different network without the UCM being wiped and reintialized. In ever case, I see the same issues you do.

YOu need to take a backup of the VM, reload the software, reinitialize at the new IP address, and then restore the VM.

I've heard anecdotally (e.g. here on Tek tips) that IP address changes can be done, but I've never seen it work, and no one I know has managed to get it to work.

In my view, this, along with the fact that having a UCM installed blocks you from running embedded VM (there are scenarios where this is an issue... e.g. what happens when your UCM dies, you have no replacement available, and you've got people working on teleworker licenses with softphones? Pull the UCM to get embedded up and running and the softphones stop, becuase your implied preferred license just went away), plus general reliability issues anyway are fairly substantial reasons why this product should be avoided at this time.

I have done thing dozen times and it always worked for me.
