I just upgraded the 500v2 to 11.0 from 9.1 and now im trying to bring up the UC module also. Im attempting to use the webmanager to transfer the iso image to the UC module so that I can trigger the upgrade through the webmanager. I can start the transfer but when its about 90% through it just freezes and doesn't seem to transfer any more. Ive let it set about 45 minutes now at 90%. Is this normal? Any way around it? I know the upgrade can be done through a USB stick also, does anyone have a good walk through for that?

I won't even attempt UC Module upgrades anymore, I always just take a backup and do a full re-image then restore the backup. You do need to be on site to do that with a USB drive. The best way to upgrade though is to spin up an App server and ditch the UCM.

I scrapped the upgrade through LAN file transfer idea. Attempting to do it with a USB now. Its at 9.1. Do i need to use the usb to bump it up to 10.1 and then 11.0? or can i just clear the whole thing and install it right at 11.0?

You can go directly to 11. Just make sure you have a good backup.

well its at 11 now... but system status says it needs to be ignited. the problem is, i cant browse to it and i cant ping it. so im trying to change the ip with a keyboard and mouse but no luck yet.

Browse to https://[IP OFFICE ADDRESS]:7071 to ignite it.

I tried that but somehow the ip address of the UC module got whacked out. I had to use a monitor and keyboard and follow these instructions to change the ip so that i could actually access it. So, that's completed and it has been successfully ignited. But now systems status shows it "application starting" for about 20 minutes now. long day... i do appreciate the replies though.

Alright, so this is where I stand, any help would be greatly appreciated.
Tried to upgrade from 9.1 to 10.1 on the UC module through the web manager.
Iso transfer froze at 90%. (waited about 45 more minutes and then canceled)
Tried a second time, same results.
Used usb builder to make a 10.1 upgrade usb.
Plugged that in the front, shut down, and booted uc from usb via SSA.
After hitting 5%, it gave an usb upgrade error.
Rebuilt usb with a 11.0 install for uc mod.
Watching through ssa the install went well and then it gave a message that the UC mod had to be ignited.
I tried to browse to the UC mod address>:7070 or 7071 but couldn't access the uc module
Hooked up a monitor and Keyboard and rebooted. got into the linux command screen and changed the ip address to the Right address
Rebooted and was able to browse to the UC mod and ignited it properly.

Question 1 it was asking for a gateway ip address. Is that going to be the gateway of the network 10.10.10.1 or the ip of the ipo 10.10.10.105? I wasn't sure which to use so i went with the IPO ip.

So, then things get weird. I can log into the module and ping it, but when i hit *17 i get a turkey tone the message "incompatable." so I cant call from an ip phone to the VM Pro
I restored the modules and start points and stuff and created a new menu and set it up to record menu recording via the extension on my desk. I click record and it rings my phone and i can record and listen to the message. but i cant call that menue back from the phone.

Question 2 why can i not call from phone to VM but i can call from vm to phone for message recording?

Question 3 how do i reload the backup? I saved it via WinSCP before the upgrade, how do i load it back on?

Ive seen some threads about ip route issues on the UC module disappearing. Could that be my issue?

What is SSA showing when you look at the voicemail tab? does it show none? Also you might have to change the password between the VM and the IP Office to match again.
Mike

The VM tab does show all the vm boxes created. What passwords might I need to change?

I get this over and over again in syslog event viewer and system status shows all my vm channels in use and that instances number goes up 1 every time I hit *17. no available channels seems to be stopping me from hitting vm. why do i have no channels available? I checked reserved channels in manager and I have 4 available channels and non reserved for anything specific.

Seems as if I put the cart before the horse. I uploaded the wrong backup to the UC module so none of the system settings were right. I went back and uploaded the correct backup and now things are working.
