I have a IP0 500V2 8.1(52) that has a UC module that isn't working properly. They are also using voicemail pro. You can leave messages in the voicemail box but no indication light shows up on the phones. When you try to access the mailbox from the phones there is no message in the mailbox. The auto attendant is working fine too. System status shows no problems on the UC Module and has plenty of space available. They do have voicemail to email set up as well, and no indication shows up in the email boxes either? Any ideas?!

They system has been up and running with no problems for about 6 months

It is dying softly.
Avaya has a cost free return action for those modules, contact your reseller/distributor for a replacement.

A simple mind delivers great solutions

Virden1, can you still web browse to the admin page for the voicemail, if so try to stop and restart the voicemail pro service, you could also try a reboot of the voicemail module. And last but least, do a graceful shut down of the ipoffice, pull the power cord, reseat the uc module and repower the system and test, may work may not as intrigrant has said they are having numerous issues with these and you really should get it replaced in the near future.

ok, that's not good news at all guys.... is there a was to back up everything off of the uc module including voicemails? If so, how?

I can't access the web page to do a reboot on the module, just an error page.

Virden1 then another way to rebbot the module is to hold the top round button in for a few seconds and this will cause a reboot, try this as you have few options left

I did a full reboot of the phone system and it didn't come back. Should I still try the reboot with the button on the uc module?

yes reboot holding down the top button on the uc module, will take about 5 minutes to come back.

ok, good news. I got into the uc module and did a reboot through SSH. It is recording messages again, but I think I lost the messages in the time the UC was not working. Is there a way to get those messages back or are they gone forever?

I'm still going to get the module replaced with a new one. I've never done a full backup on one of these before, how do you go about doing that?

try programs/avaya/ipoffice/voicemail pro/ accounts/ then search through the users folders

Virden1, to do a full back up you will need to access the web page for voicemail, can you get to it yet?

browse around and you will find where to do this, as I currently do not have access to a uc module web page its hard to tell you exactly where but trust me you will find it there, maybe setting page.

ok great I will let you know of anything else. Thanks guys for all of your help!

if your UCM is of the vintage that will break, I highly advise you do an immediate backup in VM Pro, and pull the backup off the UCM onto a PC using WinSCP.

By the time you get a new one, it might be dated, but if it dies tomorrow, or next week, have A backup is far better than having none.

FWIW, you do the full backup from within the VM Pro client (Administration, General, backup&restore, click backup now. When complete use WinSCP to login to the UCM using the webcontrol username/password, and copy the backup off the UCM. both the app server and UCM documents tell you where to find it.
