I had SOHO3s on 4 remote sites connecting to a UNIX system at HQ. All lines are T1. Speed was excellent. I am converting to a Windows environment - Server 2003 and am running a Windows version of the same software the UNIX system ran. I also changed to TZW170. Speed within HQ is very good. Speed at remote sites is very slow - what took a couple of seconds on the UNIX system is 45 seconds to a few minutes now. Currently remote sites are connecting to the 2003 Server over the VPN with a mapped drive on the server. Terminal client services is not being used at this time. I would appreciate any information toward a solution.

Hi Masinc1, I believe I can help you. I recently had a similar issue and was advised to ditch the IKE vpn and switch to manual keys. My users still experience some slowness, but nothing like it was. It is a lot faster.

Some advice: The Outgoing SPI must match the Incoming SPI on opposite sonicwalls, and vice versa.

The reason we switched to manual keys was becuase there were a lot of IKE re-negotiations. I hypothesize that may have been the cause of the slow connection.

Hope this helps!

Alan
