I have a big problem and hope someone can help me:

I want to make a query based on 2 tables running on our AS400 (ODBC link)

Table 1: Purchase Orders Dept A
Table 2: Sales Orders Dept B

I linked the PO number field from Table 1 to the Customer Ref field from Table 2.
Problem is that the PO number field is numeric and the Customer ref field is text. I cannot change the field types (I think) because I link into them via ODBC.

It is vital for the rest of my query that I can link these two fields.

Anyone out there that can help me?

you just need to convert one to a string (or vice versa, one to a number)

are you using a pass-through query or an access query?
