help! after re-install of w98se windows detected my modem and used one of its own drivers. i was not convinced this was correct and so checked my modem for info etc on its model and type the following was on a chip:

RCVDL 56 ACFW/SP R6771-22
COPYWRIGHT Rockwell 97
9817 B57113-2

barcode is 19809810013758

if this is a rockwell modem what is the driver i should be using and where can i get it from also is it using my main cpu or is it using its own. windows detects it as a "standard k56flex"
please help.
Paul Ashworth.

p1228, you have a "hard" modem, using it's own chips, not the CPU. Rockwell doesn't make modems, they make chips.
Drivers for the R6771-22 chipset are on my modems page. Cheers,
Jim
