Hello,

I have studied Head First PHP MySql book.
Now I start some practice building a website.
I suppose you can send the data, result of a query to a .txt file (like a list of addresses). Don't know how at this moment. Are there functions in php to create a .pdf file from for example this .txt file ? Just a littel advice is welcome or a redirection to a webpage where I can find such info.

Regards and thanks mainwhile.

I'll back up feherke here. We use FPDF to dynamically generate setup documentation for our clients depending on their client id number, location, and service center. It has saved us a lot of time and effort, not to mention printing costs.

for mail merge type functionality, I have read that the zend framework has a great plugin that sends stuff off to a remote server and retrieves either a merged word document or a pdf as you wish. one assumes that the functionality can be easily recoded to avoid the zend framework.

i have not used it, however. The plugin is called livedocx.

outside of this, i also use fpdf and the extensions fpdfi. I also use dompdf.

ok, great and quick answers ! I do some development trials this week. Thanks !

I have used FPDF succesfully -however, I got a special project that required CMYK capabilities and then I stumbled over tcpdf - very good documentation, I recon.

Good luck!
