Hello

On an Opt 61C 2511, we need a 3903 set with two different DN's, each on an SCR key.

Is there a way of having only a visual indicator of an incoming call on one line when the other line is busy on a call?

For some reason, if the original call is on speaker, the other line only buzzes once when an incoming call arrives, then it goes silent. But if the original call is on the handset, the other line keeps ringing when a call arrives for it.

The two DN's in question do not appear on any other sets.

Thanks

Hello bigindian65. If set to buzz, does this not make it buzz for the duration of the ringing cycle? That is what is happening now when the active call is on the handset. If the call is on speaker, the incoming call to the other line buzzes once.

We want it to either stay silent or buzz only once if the other line is busy, regardless of whether the active call is on handset or speaker. Here is the phone in question.

chg it to an SCN key instead of SCR (Single Call Non-ringing)

I thought about that, but the set is for two people using it at different times. They need different DN's as they cannot share a mailbox for messages.

They both need an audible tone if their line is idle, but when busy they need the other to be silent, or at least only give one ring/buzz.

TN's are in short supply, but I suspect the solution might be two sets on the desk and voicemail for the one that is not being used.

I was just hoping to save a TN, a telset and space on the desk. Wishful thinking maybe?

Thanks again

You could always put a make set busy key on it. when they are on a call, press make busy...no ring, no buzz.

Of course - every user's favourite key!

I will test that and make sure having to press a shift key and one other isn't a step too far for the users. Not to mention having to disable Make Set Busy after a call. But there is always that lovely tone as a reminder.

Thanks for the help.
