Two-Way Voice Intercom Not Working MLX-10D

I have a single MLX-10D unit that is not working in two-way voice intercom conversations. The unit is set with HFAI on, but when the unit is paged over voice intercom, the paging party cannot hear the response over the mic. The paged party can hear the paging party over the speaker just fine. The ring intercom function works just fine. Is there some special setting to be checked for this? I checked all of the Voice Announce functions, and it is identical to all of the other phones. Any help is appreciated.

two only works when you call the other party not when used with paging.

Have you tried changing out the set?

Check out the microphone; will the set work correctly for a speakerphone call? If not, then the mike may be dead, or the small hole on the bottom of the set may be plugged up.

You need to have the HFAI button lit to do two way voice.

Thanks for your input. The HFAI button is definitely on, and no, I have not yet tried to change out the set. It looks like it is probably a mic issue, although every other part of the phone is 100% functional. I will have to test it further to ID the problem.
